As 2025 comes to a close, the WPLC Board is pleased to share a newly adopted set of Value statements that will help guide the consortium’s work going forward. Check out the Values below and find them any time on the WPLC website.
Integrity and Ethics: We are guided by the ethics and standards of the library profession, including intellectual freedom, privacy, access, and information literacy.
Collaboration and Cooperation: Together, we strive for consensus and collaborate to serve the best interests of the statewide library community and Wisconsin residents.
Fiscal Responsibility: We intentionally prioritize and manage our shared resources, achieving cost savings through economies of scale for all participating organizations and libraries.
Access and Equity: We strive to make equity-minded decisions and work to cultivate an environment that respects and champions diversity, reflecting our varied Wisconsin communities.
Creativity and Innovation: We are “forward thinkers,” seeking to recognize, understand, and proactively respond to over-the-horizon challenges and opportunities with innovative approaches.
Transparency and Accountability: Through timely, clear, and honest communications, we engage in an open and ongoing conversation with all participating organizations and libraries.
