The WPLC Strategic Plan Turns 1! | Did You Know?

The WPLC Board celebrated the consortium’s one-year anniversary of its Strategic Plan at their February meeting. Notable activities and highlights from Year 1 of the Strategic Plan include:

  • The adoption of a Mission, Vision, and a set of Value statements to help guide how the WPLC does its work.
  • A new WPLC website was created to help centralize and streamline communications and resources for WPLC governing bodies, Wisconsin library staff, and library patrons across the state.
  • The Digital Library Steering Committee and the Selection Committee have continued their work with WPLC’s OverDrive team to use cost-effective ways to add more titles and copies to Wisconsin’s Digital Library.

But that’s not all! Work continues on the Strategic Plan in Year 2:

  • The newly formed Communications Committee will delve into a range of activities and projects to develop a coherent, effective communication plan for the WPLC.
  • Work on the WPLC bylaws may impact some aspects of the consortium’s governance structure and support scenario planning.
  • The Delivery Workgroup will develop a repository of contact information of library-, system-, and delivery courier staff involved in statewide delivery operations.

More updates on the Strategic Plan’s activities and progress will be shared over the course of Year 2. In the meantime, do you have questions or comments about the WPLC Strategic Plan? Contact the WPLC project managers at wplc-info@wils.org or contact your system’s Board rep.
