This past weekend at the American Library Association Midwinter Conference, OverDrive and The Library Corporation  announced an agreement that enables OverDrive customers to order high-quality TLC MARC records and cataloging services simultaneously with their digital OverDrive materials.

Using TLC’s streamlined BiblioFile OnDemand technology, MARC records for eBooks, audiobooks, music and video titles will be prepared and delivered directly to each OverDrive library ready to import in just a few days. Final testing is under way and is expected to go live soon.

The OverDrive feature of Recommend to Library (RTL) is live on our Digital Library site, and patrons are finding it, and using it! There have been 47 recommendations already this week. RTL is a much more efficient way to manage requests than having to do it manually, so please promote when you can.

We just received the following announcement from OverDrive regarding Penguin audiobooks. The 99 titles currently in the WPLC collection will not be affected.
