The mission of the We Energies Foundation is to “create brighter futures for the communities in which we do business, enhancing the growth and success of our company. Major funding priorities include support for educational initiatives at both the K-12 and college levels as well as arts and cultural programming that will “expand and increase accessibility to the arts through outreach and that enhance creative expression in children through educational activities.”
Deadline: Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis. Quarterly deadlines are January 31, April 30, July 31 and October 31.
Grant amount: Majority of grants awarded are under $5,000; many are under $2,000.

Grant applicants must be located in a community served by We Energies. Check the Geographic Funding Area map to confirm that your community qualifies. The funding area covers much of southeast Wisconsin, east-central Wisconsin, and scattered communities in the west, southwest and central areas of the state.
Applications are submitted through an online form. The form asks for detailed information about your organization (mission statement, history, recent accomplishments and activities) and your proposed project (project summary, populations served, specific needs addressed by the project and expected outcomes). Applicants must also submit a list of board members, most recent financial statement, project budget, and an IRS determination letter of 501(c)(3) status (or tax-exempt status documentation for public/government agencies) as separate attachments.
