Collaborative Curation: The WDL Selection Process | Did You Know?

With over 350,000 copies of digital audio, ebooks and magazines and 9 million checkouts in 2024, it’s no exaggeration that Wisconsin’s Digital Library gets its read on! Wisconsin’s Digital Library is unique relative to other national shared digital collections in that the selection process is decentralized and shared by Wisconsin Public Library Consortium (WPLC) member librarians.

Youth Services Staff WPLC/WDL Survey Follow-Up | Did You Know?

Today, we wanted to say a huge thank you and share an update with the many youth services staff members who participated in the YS-focused survey that WPLC project managers shared in February. The response was fantastic, with 231 people filling out responses and representation from every library system around Wisconsin.

How will the survey responses be used?

Here are some tangible action items you can expect to see as a result of the information shared through the youth services staff survey:

Penguin eBooks are now downloadable for Kindle without USB

As previously announced, the USB side-loading requirement for Penguin eBooks on Kindle devices has been lifted. Today, we are pleased to inform our partners and end-users that direct downloads of Penguin eBooks in Kindle format for U.S. library accounts are now standard. This means that these titles will have the same ease of use as all other publishers’ eBooks, without the need for USB loading.
