Today, we wanted to say a huge thank you and share an update with the many youth services staff members who participated in the YS-focused survey that WPLC project managers shared in February. The response was fantastic, with 231 people filling out responses and representation from every library system around Wisconsin.
How will the survey responses be used?
Here are some tangible action items you can expect to see as a result of the information shared through the youth services staff survey:
- Survey findings will be shared with Wisconsin’s Digital Library selection team, particularly those that select juvenile and YA materials for the statewide collection. Selectors may use the takeaways from the survey to inform focus areas for collection development and growth in the coming months.
- Some high-level takeaways will be shared with two key entities, the Digital Library Marketing Committee and the WDL support team at OverDrive, to help inform digital and print marketing materials that will be useful for staff who work with youth and families in their libraries.
- WPLC project managers will also use survey findings to determine what kinds of things to spotlight through blog posts like this one, to surface certain resources, and to point out aspects of WDL and WPLC that might be helpful for youth services staff to be aware of.
